For the second year in a row, Stratitude has achieved a Level 2 Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) rating.
The rating is a result of a B-BBEE strategy implemented over the past 12 months, aimed at ensuring that the agency achieves measurable outcomes and makes a long-term impact in its communities, as well as for its beneficiaries.
Stratitude scored highly in the ownership and employment equity categories. A skills development programme comprised internships for young graduates, of which one intern was appointed on a full-time base, the upskilling of employees in skills development courses, as well as an internal mentorship initiative that offered four young people valuable marketing and communications skills and knowledge.
The marketing agency supported the launch of a female, black-owned PR and communications agency, Phumtha Services, as part of its enterprise development initiative. This included the development of a website that launched the brand in the digital space. “Having started Stratitude ten years ago, it felt right to support another female-owned agency to launch in the industry. We jumped at the opportunity to work with an individual so passionate about marketing communications, and are excited to be a part of the Phumtha journey”, says Sylvia Schutte, Stratitude Managing Director.
The agency’s contribution to socio-economic development and responsible social marketing continued as per its eight-year relationship with Sunshine Association – a non-profit organisation that supports children with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities. Along with making several donations to the NPO, the agency redesigned training manuals, managed its social media platforms and website. “Sunshine Association is very dear to our hearts. It’s our passion project and we believe that supporting the NPO with their marketing requirements makes a real impact on the incredible work they do”, says Schutte.
Regarding its supplier development initiatives, Stratitude implemented a verification process to outsource to, and support, black-owned suppliers. The marketing agency continued its support of a black-owned brand management company with marketing and website development services.
“We are committed to making a difference in our communities and country at large through our ongoing support to all our initiatives. To us, this B-BBEE achievement is more than just a status. It is about long-term sustainability and making a positive impact”, says Schutte.
